Rejoice and be glad in Him

But may all who seek you rejoice and be glad in you; may those who love your salvation say continually, “Great is the Lord!”-Psalm 40:16 (ESV)

During this week check out the entirety of Psalm 40. Have you waited for the Lord this year? As you ponder that question I’d like to encourage you with the verse above specifically chosen to highlight the rejoicing and praise even while David waited. This entire chapter is about praising and trusting God through any circumstance. It is so beautiful that we can praise God during difficult and simple seasons of life. Especially during the Christmas season, where everyone is looking for that hope that God offers us. The amazing part is that Jesus is the hope for us, he is the sacrificial lamb that was born in a manger to die on the cross for our sins. Yall, that is our hope! Jesus is the reason for the season, no matter how cheesy it sounds it is true. He is the reason we celebrate, he is the reason we are still here worshipping God, he is the reason we have hope and joy and peace. We celebrate Jesus’ birth because he is the messiah and worthy of our praise.

  1. Jesus is the reason for our HOPE and IS OUR HOPE. This season will touch each of us in very special ways. Many pains and hardships have happened in 2020, AND Jesus has walked with us each and every day. So we praise and worship HIM for that reason.
