Scripture of the Day: Matthew 17: 20-21 (NIV)

He replied, “Because you have so little faith.  Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move.  Nothing will be impossible for you.”

Watching the descent of the sun announcing this day was over, and tomorrow has yet to begun water leaks out of the corner of my eye.   My request seems to linger in empty space above my lips as I beg for the waters to part.  Temptation lurks, enticing me to give up and stop inquiring God to move this mountain.  And then, HE reminds me of His faithfulness.  He restores my faith, the size of a mustard seed, to keep pressing onward and walk in faith and not by sight.

When our faith teeters back and forth, weariness creeps in.  Requesting out of desperation for instant changes we have yet to see, can weigh heavily on our hearts.  Our minds begin to wonder and puzzle at our motionless state.  In those numb moments, we are reminded…Faith, the size of a mustard seed, has the power to move our mountain. However, repositioning a mountain may take time and be a slow process.  Yet, there are other times our mountain is vanquished so abruptly, causing our knees to shake.

We have no control over a mountain, nor the strength to nudge it, the only one who can relocate a mountain is the one who created it.  When or how the mountain moves are entirely up to God alone.  We are to trust His perfect timing and believe God fulfills every promise.
